This simple but elegant and well-made chair from the Finnish company Nikari Oy was designed by Samuli Naamanka and is one of 12 different works by different designers, each piece named after a month of the year, that together form a series called Designs for Nature.
This type of wooden chair, without arms and without upholstery, has a long history in Nordic design and can be found in robust vernacular pieces from the 19th century onwards.
