painting the town

In part, as the antidote to all that good taste of the sign writer’s art, I’ve posted here some images of some graphic art on a much larger scale. As I have walked around Copenhagen to explore the city over the last couple of months I have photographed some of the murals painted on the gable walls of apartment buildings. Many of the older buildings are plastered and painted anyway so they provide an ideal blank canvas. I’m not sure if the artists have to apply for a licence from the city but their work must, to some extent, be officially tolerated for the paintings are so large that it is not a matter of just sneaking up in the middle of the night with a spray can of paint. As and when I come across more I will post them.
