The first post for this blog was written six months ago and the site has now settled into a style and format that seems to work relatively well but, for many reasons, this is the right time to change its scope and direction.
The aim then was that short articles about Scandinavian design would provide a context and some background information about furniture, tableware, clothes and so on that are sold by Nord, a Scandinavian design shop in Cambridge. Nord has just moved to a more prominent central site in the city and it is time for them to reassess and see how they can co-ordinate their use of social media through Facebook and Tumblr.
This blog will now develop separately so that it can expand to include more posts on architecture and travel as well as provide more critical reviews of a wider range of furniture and design. My aim is to create an English-language site that will provide an appreciative but not always uncritical perspective on Nordic design from this side of the North Sea.
For the next month or so, the original domain name and URL will still bring you to this site but when a new blog for the shop is set up in the New Year there will be a notice and a link to that new site here.
Over the next few days some links on this site may not function while various changes are completed … I apologise and hope you won’t feel frustrated and click through and away too quickly.
